This Privacy Policy explains how Bluemoji ("Bluemoji", "we", "us") collects and uses information when you use the Bluemoji website at bluemoji.io (the "Website") and the Bluemoji iOS app, including its keyboard and iMessage extensions (the "App").

‍Information Collection and Use

- The App has no accounts or logins. We never ask for your name, email, phone number or Apple ID.
- Stickers you create are stored on your device. We do not upload them to our servers.
- The App creates a random identifier on your device so we can understand how the App is used and connect that usage with your subscription status.
- We use this data to improve the App. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps and websites.

Information we collect in the App

A random app identifier. When you first open the App, it generates a random ID and stores it securely on your device (in the iOS Keychain). This ID is not linked to your name or Apple ID. Because it is stored in the Keychain, it may remain on your device even if you delete and reinstall the App.

How you use the App. We record events such as opening and closing the App, which screens you view, when you open the sticker editor, which sticker parts you select (for example, eyes or hats from our catalog), and when you save a sticker. We do not collect the stickers you create, your photos, or anything you type.

Device and app information. App version and build, operating system version, device model and type, device language, and time zone.

Approximate location. Our analytics provider uses your IP address to estimate your country. We do not access GPS or your precise location, and we do not store your IP address for any other purpose.

Purchases and subscription status. If you make an in-app purchase, payment is handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details. Our subscription provider receives information about your purchases and subscription (for example, whether you have Premium, and transaction and renewal details from Apple) so we can unlock paid features, restore purchases and show the right offers.

Device identifier. Our subscription provider uses Apple's identifier for vendors (IDFV), an ID that is specific to our App on your device, to operate subscriptions. The App does not ask for permission to track you, and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).

What stays on your device

Your stickers. Stickers and custom emoji you create are stored locally on your device, in storage shared between the App and its keyboard and iMessage extensions. We do not collect or upload them.

Saving to Photos. If you choose to save a sticker, the App asks for permission to add it to your photo library. The sticker is saved on your device only and is not sent to us.

Keyboard extension. The Bluemoji keyboard lets you insert stickers into other apps. To work, it asks for "Allow Full Access". Full Access is needed only to copy stickers so you can paste them into a conversation and to load the stickers you created in the App (they are kept in storage shared between the App and the keyboard). The keyboard does not collect, store or transmit anything you type, and Full Access is not used to read or send your keystrokes.

iMessage and WhatsApp. When you choose to send a sticker through iMessage or add stickers to WhatsApp, the sticker is passed to that app at your request. From that point, it is handled under Apple's or WhatsApp's own privacy policies.

Information we collect on the Website

The Website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, how you arrived at the Website, and your approximate location (country or city, based on your IP address). We use this information only in aggregate to see which emoji and pages are popular and to improve the Website. We do not use it to identify you personally.

You can block these cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it only to reply to you.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• provide the App and its features, including Premium, purchases and restores;
• understand how people use the App (for example, which sticker parts are popular and where people stop in the editor) so we can improve it;
• see usage by country and by free or Premium status in aggregate;
• keep the App working reliably and prevent abuse.

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Service providers

We use the following providers to operate the App. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes described here:

• PostHog: product analytics, hosted in the European Union. posthog.com/privacy
• Adapty: subscription management and paywalls. adapty.io/privacy
• Apple: App Store distribution and in-app payments. apple.com/legal/privacy
• Google Analytics: Website analytics. policies.google.com/privacy

When you share stickers through iMessage or WhatsApp, those apps receive the sticker you chose to share. They are not our service providers, and we do not send them any other data about you.

How long we keep data

We keep analytics data only as long as it is useful for improving the App. Purchase and subscription records are kept as long as needed to provide your subscription and meet accounting obligations.

Your choices

You can delete stickers you've created at any time in the App. Deleting the App removes stickers stored on your device.

If you'd like us to delete analytics or subscription data associated with your app identifier, email us at [email protected] . Because the App has no accounts, we may ask for details that help us find your data, such as an App Store purchase receipt.

Children

The App and Website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App or Website changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
